Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
The FSIP motor is designed to run with the stock controller but, the stock controller limits motor rpm (speed) to 19 mph regardless of the motor make or size. The Alltrax XCT48300 controller allows the user to set the rpm limit & a peak output which is 60% greater than the stock controller. I set up the test cart controller with the motor manufactures suggested 6000 rpm limit. I was surprised at how much more power the cart had with this combo. It rapidly reached 27.5 mph on stock tires and wheels. 20" tall tires would result in 30mph.

Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
If I replace a stock motor with a Upgraded EMP, FSIP, Plum Quick motor, a CC IQ car will go 24 MPH with no other changes. If it has no code 4 in it, it will go from 15 to 24 MPH. If it has a code 4 in it, it will go 24 MPH with no other changes. Ive done hundreds.
I realize your cart has big tires, so you will need to gain back some torque, and a controller change will be required. |

Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
I just did this, the FSIP motor did not increase speed in the Precedent beyond 19mph.
The controller limited the motor rpm. The speed remained at 19 mph with the OEM controller set on code 4. Code 4 goes 19mph. Both Ezgo and CC limit maximum speed to 19mph. Call the dealer to verify. With the Alltrax alone I can get 23mph from these carts. These are real GPS results. You may be seeing modified speed sensor results. |
