Default 03 club car iq obc bypass

What voltage do you expect to see on the white wire with the run/tow switch on or off. I see battery voltage in run and 34 volts with the key in tow. It's a 48v cart.

I actually thought it was the same as the OBC is still functional in Tow..... Sergio will have to let us know.

Before I started looking on the internet for known problems with Club carts. I tested a known good running cart with the same OBC that I have in my cart. The blue wire that runs from the OBC to the Curtis control has 39.8 v in a running condition. (48v cart) If you power down the OBC the voltage goes to 0 and stays there, until you power up the OBC by hitting the accelerator pedal and recharged the OBC. I see everyone connects the blue and the white wire together to bypass the OBC. I have the new Curtis Sepex updated controller that went from 250 amps to 350 amps. I just don't want to hurt the controller with the higher voltage.

I know Sergio is very skilled with these electrical differences and explanations. Hopefully he will see this and be able to comment. If he doesn't in a day or so, try to PM him and ask him to please look at your thread.

The charger lockout is a "logic input" of 10ma, anything higher than 20v is considered a "high" logic signal.

Your voltage reading could have been caused by the meter impedance interaction with the circuit during measurement, do You know the input impedance of the meter that was used?

In any event there is no risk of damage and connecting the White and the Blue wires together guarantees the Controller does not have the "not charging" logic signal when the Tow/Run is on Tow.

10 mega ohm impedance. The meter is a fluke 87
I didn't think battery voltage would hurt it being it has
Multiple other full battery voltage inputs. I down loaded fsip wiring diagram. Pretty simple circuits. I might tear a part the obc and try to find the weak link in them. I can get all the parts from digikey or mouser.
Thanks very much for your help.

Nothing simple inside the OBC, specially since it is "potted" to prevent acess to the components:

If the OBC is disconnected, You should be getting 0v on the White wire at the harness 6-pin connector with the Tow/Run switch in TOW.

I forgot to add this. To get around the factory charger issue not shutting off. I install a lester 48v timer assembly and left the factory style full wave rectifier in it. Seems to work good.
