so got it home and battery tested at .7volts. drained the old gas/varnish out of the tank. added some new fuel and put a jump box on it and started right up. put in forward and the handle rotates way more then it should. moved great. tryed to back it in the garage and again over rotated shift lever. pressed on gas and nothin but gear grinding. pushed in the garage and started looking into what the problem is. sounds like syncro gear. where is the best place to get seats or seat covers for front. rear looks good so i would love to save some money by not having to recover, but if i have to then so be it.

Sounds like a misadjusted shift cable, or a worn one (especially if it's over-rotating and grinding but not engaging in reverse) - common w the extended cables on the longer carts.

The Pioneer/252/452 seats are NOT cheap, and I have never seen covers for them. That said, these replacement seats from Farm and Fleet were far more comfortable and only $69 each, 2-minute bolt-on, as to matching rear covers either "UptoparCovers" on Ebay or M2seats in Pompano, FL should be able to hook You up with solid black covers for well under $50 shipped, putting the entire seat project at less than the cost of one replacement factory front seat.

Oops, almost forgot - disconnect the cable at the rear end and see if You can shift it manually (you should be able to) - that's the easiest way to figure cable or something more severe (and if that's a locker rear end, You do *NOT* want anything to be wrong inside of it, trust me)

I'm not a fan in general of the Carryalls (prone to broken welds, underpowered compared to Workhorse/Yamahaulers, always chasing rattles, etc until You spend a LOT of time on them) BUT when You take the time to go through them, polish 'em up, etc they *are* a really nice looking cart - here's another C2 we recently went completely through for a customer, they *do* turn out nice

got some time to get at the cart last night. spent an hour trying to find my air impact. think its lost, so went at it with sockets. cant get the driven clutch off. the inside looks great except for the pieces of thrust washer that was in the bottom of the case. i think that with a new end bearing and spring washer i should be ok. is the green spring in the clutch good?
