Re: 1995 Club Car DS OBC
The charger ran all night and I went out in the morning and the gauge still said around 10 Amps. Some of the batteries were bubbling though. I think I’m going to unplug the charger.
Does that mean the OBC isn’t working properly? The charger comes on about 5 seconds after plugging it in. |

Re: 1995 Club Car DS OBC
If the pack voltage is below 62v it indicates the issue is with the batteries ability to accept a charge, let the charger keep running until the 16 hour time limit.
Also make sure the batteries and the charger receptacle wires are correctly connected so the charger load is a 48v pack. |

Re: 1995 Club Car DS OBC
Just as Sergio said, but if you can catch it before it times out, please check the pack voltage. If you check it after it cuts off, you will not know what the charger output to the pack was prior to shutting off. The reading afterwards will only be the drift charge and will go down till it settles out somewhere 8 to 12 hours after cutting off.
And if it does time out, wait that 8-12 hours and check each battery individually to see if you have a single culprit, and then check pack voltage. If it is still below the optimum ~51 volts, then unplug it, wait a minute and plug it back in and allow it to complete the full charge cycle. If it runs another 16 hours or fails to get over at least 58.3 volts while charging, the batteries are gone. |

Re: 1995 Club Car DS OBC
I identified one weak battery in the pack. I accidentally installed a bad one with my set- they all look the same. I’m charging it overnight now. All new 8 volt batteries coming early next week.

Re: 1995 Club Car DS OBC
Ok. So I let it charge over night and came out in the morning and the charger shut itself off- so I guess that means the old OBC is fine.
Thank you everyone for the help! |
