2014 Precedent Hesitates When Starting
I have read several threads on this subject. Some say its solenoid, battery, micro switch, etc. Others say that there is a "sweet spot" in the pedal. Whats the real answer? Played a fews wholes the other day and she started right up but after about 1.5 hours all the sudden the battery dies. Battery is less that 6 months and started up with no hesitation just an hour and a half prior. Where should I start??

Charge battery up once battery is fully charged block it up and run it to wide open throttle with a meter directly on the battery post and see what voltage you're getting should bounce up to 14-15v if it doesn't move off of 12 you most likely have a bad voltage regulator

Re: 2014 Precedent Hesitates When Starting
When i first step on gas pedal it dipped down into the low 11 volt range. Once it was up to speed it only reached 12.29. You think its the voltage regulator?

Yep!
it's a bad voltage regulator! (should be about 15.3V at mid to full throttle) It's best to spend the extra $$ on an OEM regulator, the cheaper aftermarket ones tend to fail right out of the box. |

Re: 2014 Precedent Hesitates When Starting
Is that a common problem with these carts? Seems like they would last more than 3 years.

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no... it depends on how long the cart was run with the old battery being bad.

Re: 2014 Precedent Hesitates When Starting
Well it looks like i must have bought an aftermarket voltage regulator, even though it said it was OEM. I put it on and cart ran fine for three or four outings. Got through 16 holes yesterday and it was dead. Any idea where i can get an actual club car regulator?

Seen more people have bad aftermarket electronic parts than good ones on this site there's a place for aftermarket parts just not on electronics

Re: 2014 Precedent Hesitates When Starting
Changed the voltage regulator out to an OEM unit. Cart ran fine for about 23 holes and battery died again. Charged the battery back up, ran it with the wheels off the ground, stayed steady at ~12.64 volts. What next? Am I somehow cooking these voltage regulators? Is it the starter generator?
