Yes. Only concern is traction on a slick ramp.

From taylor-dunne.com:

"This vehicle operates at 18 mph and carries loads up to 3,000 lbs. Specifically designed to meet rugged outdoor applications, the ET-3000 is equipped with a 48 volt drive train and travels up to 30 miles in a single charge.
Taylor-Dunn’s GT Drive system provides hill climbing ability and acceleration while carrying heavy cargo during daily applications.
Standard features include, steel cab and doors, load range E tires, durable frame design, four-wheel hydraulic brakes and motor design that ensures reliability and low maintenance cost."

Also have a look on YouTube, the GTDrive system appears to be well built and heavy duty.

So it appears that your utility vehicle is rated to handle your 5000 lb boat on level ground, the real question is how will it handle it pulling your boat out of the water on a boat ramp? I agree that the question of traction is the main concern.

I was not able to determine if the GT Drive system comes with a non-slip type differential. A non-slip differential would be to your advantage in your application.

I would also be concerned that you might not be able to put your boat into the water without getting the rear axle wet. I have been on a few boat ramps where the exhaust pipe is bubbling in the water before you are able to get your boat off the trailer. Of course this would not be possible with an electric vehicle.

Another concern on traction on a ramp is pulling out a 5000 lb boat with any vehicle that weighs considerably less than the boat.

Maybe I am over cautious but my "opinion" is that this may not be a good application for your newly acquired ulility vehicle.

You might want to contact Taylor Dunne directly and get their professional opinion on this.

Hi, Brad

As a sailor, I'm curious how this worked out for you? I'm sure the incline grade of the ramp was as important as power as well as the design of the boat trailer?

What was the length of the boat you were looking to launch?

I just saw a Taylor Dunne today and thought it may be a fun little rig for the campground and to launch a newer, lighter sailboat.

Looking forward to hearing more about your adventure.

Cheers!
