covered box in center of gas ezgo txt below floormat

I was cleaning my new to me 1999 gas ezgo txt today and discovered a plastic? box beneath the floor mat in the center of the golf cart. it had a metal cover over it and beneath was what looked like an electrical junction box. Looked like they intended it to be protected from moisture. I"m curious what it is? thanks.

Part of the throttle linkage & importantly the switch to trigger the solenoid to send power to the starter/generator.

thank you. I havent' had mine long. have an electric marathon. but this is my first gas cart. taking it apart to paint it. thought it was nice but you know how thing go when you get to looking.

While you have access to it I would look inside. They can get nasty inside there.

I will bet i'll find dirt. It looks like someone used this cart for a 4 wheeler. I find dirt beneath everything i take loose.
