That’s a 1984 gas ezgo Marathon. Do you have a picture of the engine?

I think that is what is called the industrial model. The manual will help with the electrical system.
Look for a round black knob at the bottom rear of the forward/reverse switch. That is the fuse. If not there, it should be inline from the upper solenoid lug to the key switch. |

Ahh there's that all to familiar original ugly green lol, But with a nice choice in the color red paint over it.....Are we sure on what year it is? I noticed it has oil injection?? Not that it should matter on the wiring though

Re: Need help identifying year and model of cart and also help starting it
Definitely 84. That is the last number in the production code.
Now that I'm not reading it on my phone, I see that the reverse buzzer works. That means it's not the fuse. There are now many choices to eliminate one at a time. Battery Cables key switch microswitch solenoid brushes in the starter bad grounds butchered wiring He could use a meter to start tracing things, or he could use a known good battery, and a set of jumper cables to start testing. It all depends on skill level. |

It has a brand new battery. I have power going to the the large post on the battery side of the selonid but nothing out the other side. I also have full 12 volts when testing across the two small terminals.

Putting power and a ground directly to the small terminals of the solenoid should make it activate. You will hear a click.

Ok. Got more time to play with the cart and put a new selonid on it and still no start.

Re: Need help identifying year and model of cart and also help starting it
Starter generator could be in need of brushes. Remove on of the 4 most accessible rubber covers on the end of the generator to view one of the 4 sets of brushes. If there is alot of carbon/graphite inside along with wear on the commutator, it probably needs a good cleaning and brushes. Try tapping lightly while trying to start and see what happens.
