1988 marathon oil pump delete
I want to take my oil injection system out of my 88 marathon. Everyone says it's easy and the 6mm bolt and boom done....
I need a little more direction and or pictures. Once the hole is plugged, what do you do with the rest of the oil pump/fittings etc.... It looks like to me that there's a cluster of tubes, cables and what not on front of the fan shroud housing. Do I leave them alone or what?? |

You can remove them or leave them alone. Usually people will remove the reservoir and the tubes, but often leave the pump on the flywheel cover.
Then you will have to mix your gas at 128:1, exactly an ounce per gallon. |

Re: 1988 marathon oil pump delete
I would remove it all, pump/cable/hoses. Probably the tank too but that's up to you, Wouldn't it be a bad idea to leave the pump on and turning without oil in it? I'd also remove the Governor while you're at it

I've taken off the governor already and replaced the driven clutch. Now the cart is super sensitive on the accelerator pedal.
As for the oil pump, I want to take it completely off, I just don't know what hole to plug up and what to leave on/take off. |

It sounds like you are missing the spring that slides over the throttle cable at the carburetor. I can post pictures in the morning after work.

Very good! I lived right by there. I now live on the far east coast in Maryland by Ocean City.
