Default 99 ezgo driven clutch prob?

Have a 99 ezgo TXT gas. depressed gas pedal and heard what sounded like gears trying to engage and then nothing no forward or reverse motion. Engine runs fine, drive clutch seems to be working. Belt is traveling towards the inside. Is the problem with the Driven clutch (secondary clutch)?

Have you checked for a stripped brake hub? seams to be a pandemic around here , pull the grease cup and see if the axle castle nut is spinning but the wheel not... start with the drivers side.

Is the driven clutch turning? If so, Id guess your forward/reverse switch on the rear end is a bit out of adjustment. That will cause some grinding and no motion.

Steve, thanks for the info. will look at this weekend.

Newtjl, yes the driven clutch is spinning. will also check out this weekend.

is it possible that the spring in the driven clutch is broken? not allowing to engage? Also going to dis assemble after checking both of your suggestions.

Remove the belt and grab the clutch on both sides of it where the belts rides. You can twist it with your hands.

If the spring were to be broke which I doubt it is then it would be very easy to twist back a forth. It should have a good bit of resistance on it when twisting.
