Re: 3PG Marathon - Governor/Speed Limiter/etc
The accelerator switch connects to the pedal. That's the only one that you absolutely need. So no, don't get rid of it.
12, 13, 14, and 15 connect to the oil injection pump. You will need to premix your gas, and plug the banjo hole in your intake manifold. It's a 6x1mm thread. |

So which piece is the actual governor? And what should I be removing to fully disable that? |

Re: 3PG Marathon - Governor/Speed Limiter/etc
I'm looking at the manual, and I have absolutely no idea how the governor works on that.
It's nothing like the 2pg that has a lever that rides against the clutch. Somebody else will have to explain the 3pg. |

Does it have something to do with the giant spring (#?

Re: 3PG Marathon - Governor/Speed Limiter/etc
I haven't worked on a 3pg Gov but have worked on a Yamaha G1 that appears (by your pic) to be the same type of Gov system, IF so that lever on the rear end is the Gov. It has a shaft into the diff that gets rotated by some kind of a gear or cam or something, when I bypassed the Gov on the Yamaha I simply rerouted the throttle cable directly to the carb lever........
Most important, I was told that shaft into the rear end on the Yamaha has a plastic gear or cam that will break if it's not able to rotate. I don't know if the Ezgo's are like that but I just unhooked the cables from the lever and let it remain to do what it wants. |

Re: 3PG Marathon - Governor/Speed Limiter/etc
A working Gov will restrict the speed, a bypassed Gov will not.

These engines are only rated like 5k rpms. Be careful messing with the governor. Dont want to throw a rod.
