charger not turning on
I bought a used charger, not sure if there is a problem with it. I got a charger that was from a different brand that had a magnet to holdthe plug in. There is a a red wire inside the charger. I put a crowfoot plug on it but it did not have a spot for the little wire. tried to use the charger with no avail. the batteries are reading 32 volts. the little fuse on the front seems good. its on a 85 club car.

Re: charger not turning on
I'm not sure that is gonna work? Try using a 12v charger to bring the weakest batteries up some 32v may be too low for the charger to see or the red wire may need to be connected? Did you see the charger work before you changed ends?

Re: charger not turning on
That charger should work on the club car but you need to by pass that red wire, otherwise the computer inside the charger will not sense the voltage to kick on. You can either open the charger and by pass that wire to the negative output or on the crowfoot plug connect the red wire to the negative (black wire).
This way you are by passing the 3rd red wire that feeds 36v to the computer and the charger should come on when you plug it in. The magnet on the powerwise plug is not to hold it but to deactivate the reed switch. |
