Re: Painting top?
Try boat paint. it is self leveling, easy to use on any surface.

Re: Painting top?
We'ved tried just regular spray can paint (black), but any little nick and it scraps off. That was also the underneath of the top too. I talked to two different body shop about painting the tops and got two different answers. I think it a toss up. I've paint a few things myself. I think if it had a couple of good coats of clear on it... it would work just fine.

Re: Painting top?
You really need to use an adhesion promoter. No matter how much clear you put over the top if the base isnt adhearing to the plastic it is going to flake.

Re: Painting top?
Exactly!! And Let it dry overnight if possible before handling it. Once mine was about a week old it was fine, does not scratch off.

Re: Painting top?
I used scotch brite pad and multiprep to clean and then sprayed the underside of my ezgo top with fusion straight on the plastic. Then I did the top with omni plastic primer. Goes on like water. Then base/clear to match the cart and the omni held up much better. The fusion scratches off easily without some type of adhesion promoter.

Re: Painting top?
I'm glad to hear about the Krylon Fusion. I just bought a can last week to paint my top as well. I'm just waiting for a warm weekend to do it. It's suppose to hit the mid 40°'s Sunday, so maybe then.
