Micro Switches Keep Blowing
Hi. First Post. New Owner. I recently purchased a 1993 Club Car with a Solid State Controller. The Microswitch in the wiper assembly keeps blowing and the one that engages for forward keeps blowing. Checked all the wiring. Any ideas guys? I don't mind the occassional troubleshoot but I've got one switch left and it is a pain to get to the wiper assembly. Gotta remove three batteries.

Re: Micro Switches Keep Blowing
welcome, you might want to check the stickies for a wiring diagram and go over everything......i never heard one doing this.........did you check the resistors on the back side of the v-glide i,m not sure if they would have anything to do with it but who knows.....................

Re: Micro Switches Keep Blowing
Got a wiring diagram off the sticky last night...very helpful. Looks like it goes to the key switch and solenoid. The previous owner had all of the small wires on the same side. think that coulda done it. Also the connection was loose. I wired everything back up per the wiring diagram. Just don't want to blow my last switch.

TDawg, you're correct. I double checked everything and she came back to life!
I'm very pleased. Got a new issue though. Charger aborted after 10 minutes "abnormal charge"...any thoughts? I'm thinking I got a bad battery or two. Only 5.8v on two of them but 6.1 on the rest. |

Re: Micro Switches Keep Blowing
I'm guessing U have a loose connection on the F/R switch or cables going to or from it ,
so it is taking out the weekest thing in the link first . |

Re: Micro Switches Keep Blowing
Yeah. 6.1 is pretty low. I'll check the cables at the f/r switch. Thanks!
I'll also check the charger for problems later today. |

Re: Micro Switches Keep Blowing
I may have read this wrong but the F/R has nothing to do with it charging. If it's kicking off after a few minutes it's a bad connection someplace between the charger and the cart.
You stated someone had messed with the wiring so I would double check every wire on it. They may have a battery in backwards also. Once you find a bunch of wires miss connected don't think they figured it out and fixed the rest! |
