Well I got my McMaster Carr coil spring (96485K191) upgrade installed on my rear shocks last night.

I ended up using 1" ratchet straps like you would tie down your bike or cart to a trailer to compress the springs enough to remove them. I will post pics soon showing this process.

I pulled the clutch spring and sheaves last night and upgraded them and also painted up the shocks and rear suspension like I did the front. I should get all that together then start on the paint work. It's coming along nicely!!

Heres the pics showing how I compressed the springs and the difference between the springs. Let me tell you it's a big difference. I am really happy with them!

These pics show you the installation of the clutch spring and inner sheave. Let me know if I missed anything.

1 Removed the nut and outersheave
2 Pulled the inner sheave back with the 1" ratchet strap
3 Tapped the quarter moon key on the back side towards the inner sheave until it raised up enough in the front to peck it out the rest of the way with a drift.
4 removed inner sheave spring and plastic washer.
5 remove helix
6 remove snap ring and discard
7 Clean splines and grease shaft then install spacer with splines towards you
8 install helix
9 install spring
10 install new inner sheave and compress with ratchet strap
11 install key
12 install outersheave
13 install nut
14 put drive belt back on
15 drink a beer!

Ok,
Finally got the rear suspension installed and rolling again. The last pic shows the paint I used for the frame. It works well!! Really surprised how tall this thing is now but I like it!! Hopefully get it painted next week with a Harley theme and then start making some custom billet parts.

Talking Re: Transformation of the Tracecave Buggie

I know the Bible says we are not to covet, but dude I want your "Man Cave"!!!
(Maybe I would get mine done faster if I didn't have to work outside all of the time.)
If I could only talk the wife into letting me build my own cave

Anyway, Very Nice Job on this cart,
maybe someone will answer our question about the angle of the motor.
