Re: And so it begins: (the buy/build)
I brought it home in the rain and sleet. That and a couple of pics are all that will be done to it today. If I have it right, they should be attached.
Obviously my original thoughts on the battery box were wrong. I think a new one is called for. Along with some leafs and pine needles, it appears Micjey Mouse has visited. There is an extra wire or two. I'm guessing for the "Pep Bpys" fog lights on the front. |

Re: And so it begins: (the buy/build)
That looks more like a series cart to me.
Six pin plug on controller - DCS had a 10 pin F/R in passenger side well in front of controller - DCS had hockey puck in center behind f/R lever. No F1&F2 leads or terminals on controller No Run/Tow switch, but that could be on missing portion of controller cover. My guess is that is a Curtis 1206 controller (no MX or SX suffix), so it has a ITS type throttle. Of course, I might be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time either. |

Re: And so it begins: (the buy/build)
I tried running the serial number but it came back as not found. I'm going to assume nothing in the electrics is salvageable and replace everything. That said, are there major price differences between stock components and upgrade/performance stuff? Keeping in mind I am staying with 36 volt and if I can get 15/16 mph out of it, I'll be happy.

Re: And so it begins: (the buy/build)
If your intention is to have a stock golf cart, assume everything works and put cables and a HD switch cam in it... 8 out of 10 times those old series cart controllers are still good in carts found like that
If you want to use your stock golf cart off road or with a cargo box or a rear seat then a contorller/solenoid upgrade is needed. I suggest an AXE 400a with a 200a HD solenoid. Enjoy the refurb |

Re: And so it begins: (the buy/build)
Thanks guys. My intended use is in campgrounds during bike rallys and maybe a parade or two. Nothing that includes heavy loads like soft grounds or steep climbs. I will not have a back seat either.

Re: And so it begins: (the buy/build)
If you end up needing a Series controller, heavy duty 36 volt solenoid, and/or charger, send me a PM. I upgraded and have some leftover parts.
