Motor lock up three times
97 ezgo. 295 cc. rod locked up and broke. Rebuilt motor. turned over and it had oil pushing out the head. passage was clear across the valve cover. after running a few minutes the cam locked up.Got if freed up after sanding the head and polishing the cam. got it running again and after a few minutes the rod locked up again and broke. took the crank to the machine shop and they said I got lucky twice it is still good. The second rod was not the same one that locked up the first time. Put two new rods in it. Sounds like an oil issue. noticed the oil cover isnt flat though. looks like it has been beat flat with a hammer. can that cause it???

Re: Motor lock up three times
Just a thought! Are you sure the pistons are in in the right direction? If the get turned around the "skirt" will bind them up.

Re: Motor lock up three times
No I am not sure which way they are suppost to go in. The rod is marked fan so I assume that goes to the fan side. The pistons have two marks but not sure which way they go.
