Default Broke, and lost tension cable??

I had adjusted the tension cable to the specs that I had searched for on here. Well after a couple weeks of driving. I was cleaning the cart up, and noticed the tension cable was completely gone......I imagine it would have had to break in order to come out..Will it hurt the cart to drive it without a cable? What are actually the benefits of the cable? Also what could have caused it to break? Where can I get a new one?

I put one in 6 years ago or better, today it is holding my 420 clone lol. I set mine with a gps, I went down a drive and topped it out (as I have no governor). Then I tightened the cable until I lost top speed, backed it off. That gave best climbing power.

It keeps the engine from moving towards the trans under torque, mostly at high throttle at low speeds. The rest of the time the rubber mounts keep the vibration away. If it moves that screws up shifting, can make it bog on uphill takeoffs.

Slayer, this will be mailed today. You will need to get a 5/16 x one inch bolt and lock nut, as I couldn't find one easily, to fit the other end. I installed it in my car to confirm fit.
