Please HELP 1986 Ez Go Golf cart Starting Hot!
1986 Ez Go golf cart. It starts right up when cold and runs fine. Here's the weird part if you keep the engine running you can drive for as long as you want. if you let the engine shut off will not start when warm unless you
1# pull the plug wire off 2# remove the plug i usally wipe it quik 3# turn the engine over by stepping on the gas. put plug back in put on plug wire and away you go! Before you answer I do not think it's the coil because i can pull plug get back in in about 2 min. How ever if you let sit for 2 to 10 min. with out doing steps 1=3 it will not start.Unless it cools off! Can it be a plug or a fuel lock of some sort that when I pull the plug and turn over with noplug unlock. again start ever time with step 1=3 all day long! Please help! |

Sound like fuel unburned in the cylinder causing a lock. You may need to remove the carb clean it well and take a real close look at the needle and seat along with the float level setting.

thankyou for the reply Racin161
I am not a mechanic by any means but I really didn't think it was the coil. I am more on your page with fuel and carb. Everyone keeps saying coil I just don't want to spend money to find out not the problem! I just bought the cart and don't want to spend a bunch on it. Thank you LOU |

Re: Please HELP 1986 Ez Go Golf cart Starting Hot!
Is the spring missing on the throttle cable at the carb? If so it needs to be there to close the throttle shaft. If it is you need to adjust the throttle cable to apply a bit more pressure to the spring.
