Default Repetitive ITS Sensor Failures

BGWers,

I have a '03 EZGO TXT and purchased a new controller, wires, HD solenoid and HD switch from ScottB @ Carts Unlimited about a year ago. Since then I have gone through 2 ITS sensors.

At current, I really only have two speeds -- full stop and full go. Is there something that I should be troubleshooting here? Is this a known issue?

Thanks,
/joel

Since you mentioned a HD switch, I presume you have a series cart (series wound motor)

The controller supplies the voltage to the ITS sensor coil and that voltage varies by brand and model of controller. What controller do you have?

If it is an Alltrax, the voltage between the two throttle wires should be 10V with pedal up and 6V with pedal down.
What are you getting?

Also, how did the ITS sensor coils fail?

I was wondering that myself. Specifically, what were the symptoms? Also when answering, was the first ITS replacement the ONLY thing you changed to make it work? Sometimes, folks will change out parts and pieces until the problem goes away, without realizing they "bumped" into a loose wire connector.

Seems like an ITS would either work or not, unless the potting cracked and somehow water got in it, but two?
