In that case, you would probably be happy with the 400A version.

I went with the 500, 'cause that's just the way I am. Hadn't planned on a HS motor, but went there too. If I ever add bigger tires, we have a steep hill, and I've carried as many as four adult passengers before, so...

As to Red Green, Google him up. I'm sure there's some YouTube vids on him. 90's TV show and the best parts were a project he'd do on each episode. Real handyman.

Again, it depends on your needs and/or desires.

I went with a 400A because neither speed nor torque was my goal. I wanted range and to get range I had to carry more kWh (kilo Watt hours) with me. More than I could get from the highest capacity (AH) 6V golf cart batteries on the market, so I went with seven high (but not highest) capacity batteries.

I haven't installed the seven new batteries yet, so I don't know what the range is yet.

Figure out what you want the cart to be and build towards that goal.

New info on mine. Several of us have similar shunt/ammeter combos. Mine was showing one thing, but read my last post in JohnnyB's current Sleeper Build post.

Looks like I'm pulling more amps than my ammeter was telling me. In that case, even on mild hills, even going downhill, I'm getting my money's worth. Whether you can really measure the difference, I would have to set my controller to 500 amps then see the top speed on a stretch of road, then repeat with controller set to 400 amps, and see the speed difference.

However, I have a Series with stock tires, and you have a Sepex with bigger tires, so...

Disregard the above. I misunderstood what the controller LED was telling me.
