If the diode was installed backwards, when the pedal closed, all four switches in the solenoid activation circuit were subjected to an abnormally high current flow and one or more of them burned open. The weakest link in the chain is the Reed switch (labeled "Ignition Interlock" on the schematic I posted earlier), so that is where I'd check first. |
