Default Club car precedent won't charge!!!!!

I just bought a club car precedent, 48v not sure the year I think 2010, and then bought a powerdrive 3 charger. This is my first cart by the way. I plugged the cart in for the first time and the charger came on and the amp reading slowly went up to about 12. I came back about hour later and the reading was now 4-5. I didn't think that was right so I unplugged it for a while. plugged it back in and it went to 4-5 again on the chargers meter. Then it varied but would turn off after a little while. It varried from 5 min to n hour. I checked the only fuse I seen and it was inline and it was fine. Then I read to take the grey wire from the receptacle and jump it straight to the neg post. When I did that the charger clicked but didn't go on. Before I plugged the cart in it was dead would not move. Now I pushed the gas and it moved but I did not go drive it. Any hep would be great!!!

that sounds like a charger problem .. check breaker on charger and fuse in charger..

I can not find a fuse in the charger. Where would it be located?

Ok so the fuse looks fine in the charger. Could the obc be bad? When I plug it in it jumps straight to 16 amps on the meter then within 5 min drops to 5. Then 10-30 min everything shuts off. I unplug it plug it back in does the same thing.

Default Club car charger or obc bad?

Club car precedent. 48v 4x12 battery system. I plug charger in jumps straight to max amps on meter 3-10 min later falls to 5 amps within 30 charger shuts off. I can unplug it and plug it back in and does the same thing. I checked charger fuse and fuse on cart all good. Please help.

What you have is the typical cycle if your batteries were already fully charged and you unplugged and then plugged in the charger again. Can we assume that the charger is doing this when the batteries are not fully charged and if so I would think its the OBC that's the issue as it determines the level and duration of charge.

You have a few duplicate posts with the same question....
Anyway, I just noticed in your original post:

You need to do an OBC reset so it can re-calculate the baseline state of charge for your battery pack. Also, make sure the battery pack negative wire is going thru the OBC (standard from factory).

I see nothing wrong with your symptoms. Plug it in and let it charge.

Go to Loews or elsewhere and buy a cheap voltmeter. I think you have a bad battery.
