Re: G1 and G2 body options
nice 1989.... is that spray foam? with fiberglass over it? could you explain the details for me a little? this looks like something I can do. I could even use this method to fix the broken plastics that are on it now. thanks

Re: G1 and G2 body options
Here's a link to the entire process, minus the pics. It has alot of detail that describes what materials to use. This is my thread from back in 2006.
If you need specific pics, or have questions, let me know. Fiberglass G1 |

Re: G1 and G2 body options
Thetucks, is your front cowel fiberglass (1979/1980) or polypropaline? May make a diverance when creating the front cowel. All rear bodies where fiberglass, so your good there. Marathon....nice work

Re: G1 and G2 body options
It actually has a couple holes in the front and it looks like it's fiberglass.

Re: G1 and G2 body options
The fiberglass and epoxy resin stick just fine to the plastic front cowl. You can't use fiberglass resin, as it will melt the foam. This is basically how surfboards are made.

Re: G1 and G2 body options
Man, that's pretty slick! Prob way too nice for me though.... I kinda like my stuff rusty, scratched, and dented, LOL! That way I'm not upset when I go off road and brush up against some briars, branches, or hillsides. I would like to re-do my paint scheme though, very much like "TheNewGuy", kinda like a Humvee theme?
But, nonetheless, I like the foam and plexi idea, along with the epoxy resin trick. Never knew thats how surfboards are made. At least we know the bodies on these carts can be repaired fairly inexpensively. |

Re: G1 and G2 body options
Do you know what specifically you want to see. That would help me find them.
