Default 2005 G22A Build Thread

Thought I would start a build thread for my new to me cart. Currently a stock G22. Already ordered a 6" Jake's spindle lift, HD rear spring, 12" wheels with 22" tires. Hoping to start working on everything next week.

This will be a work in progress but I wanted a place to document my progress.

Things to come...
Paint
Lights
Rear seat

and whatever I can sneak past the wife!

Here is how she sits today...

Took some time today and started to tear her down. Everything looks pretty good except maybe a leaking input seal? Seems to have a lot of oil build up around the shaft.

Need to do a little more cleaning and some painting, but its getting better.

Hello, I will be contacting Plowman's! I have read some good things about his performance stuff!

Cant wait to see the build come along. Had a 09 ydr with oil leaking around the input shaft as well. It was a very slight leak, actually never saw it leak but dust and dirt will stick to it and look worse than it really is. Cgtech will probably chime in on how to fix the seal. Definately call plowmans when you start getting into the performance portion of your build.

If the snapring is still present behind the spring seat, that should be converted to spacer to prevent future damage. Take a closer pic, so i can see between the clutch spring seat and transaxle.

I will work on getting you a pic. Where can I get a spacer? Based on what i recall, I think its still a snap ring. Should I replace the seal and bearing since I have the cart apart?

Here is a pic of the spring seat & shaft. Looks to me like there is no spacer.

No need for a spacer and there is normally not one there. The zip tie is a "modification" from stock to allow for more speed. If the zip tie weren't there, the spring would push the lever to here the nut is.
