Default braided ground wire

Ok, stupid question, but does the braided ground wire on a gas ez go cart connect to the negative or positive battery terminal. Right now it is connected to the positive terminal, and will turn the engine over, but no spark. Just trying everything I can think of.

Gonna take a shot at it....
Take a look at the following diagram....wire#29 is the main ground starting at battery negative, to frame, to A1 post on starter generator, then to engine block.

Would the braided ground going to pos terminal cause a no spark condition at the plugs?

It is a little late here, but I am going to try first thing in the morning. I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I suspected that the ground should go to the negative not positive. Just wondered if this would cause a no spark at plug, as the engine will still turn over, but will not fire. I am guessing that starter will turn over, because of frame ground, but will not fire because of positive ground at battery.

You folks are the greatest. Solved the spark problem, fires right up, now all I have to do is figure out it is running real rough. Will check plugs, etc and let you guys know. Thanks a million to all the helped.
