Default Drive belt recommendations?

I will be purchasing a replacement drive belt for my g16a. I have found 3 that I will chose from , OEM Yamaha, Gates, Dayco. Looking for facts or opinions on one vs another.

The OEM belt works well in "normal" situations. J55-G6241-01, I believe. I'd stay away from the others. For a heavier duty/performance belt, check out Plowmans. Good stuff there...

I have a 2011 G29 drive that after upgrading to the new JW8 clutches I also had to go to the J55 belt. After trying after market drive belts (junk) and even OEM belts I have gotten good results out of the Gates (24G3884) Drive Belt from Amazon. The Gates belt is Kevlar reinforced and with 23" tires, clutch and carb mods it is holding up.

Yes and yes, I have one too. Really cool belt, very flexible supposed to be more efficient, cogged top and bottom, holds up really well on my clone. It is slightly wider so its nice for worn clutches, just fits on newer clutches. I had to take mine off right now with my brand new clutch but I can't move my clone back anymore it will hit the trans, so it may be fine on a stock cart I don't know. It was fine on my G9 clutch but the 94c closes tighter and its just a tiny bit too much it wont engage right. And the 94c is picky about that and has no adjustment. At speed its fine. I was a little bent I like that belt a lot. So now running a stock size and style GC gboost belt and it works fine, only cogged inside as usual. With some miles on my clutch it may work again I will try it later. I mounted the clone same measure at clutches as stock but it may not be exact. I would highly recommend this belt, its really a utv belt more or less and better than normal ones.
