G1 sputtering when warm
I bought a g1 couple weeks ago to use as a maint. cart in the park i work. runs awesome cold but when it gets warm it miss's and sputters and very hard to start and ideas i can investigate? I kind of suspect gas but it doesn't make sense that it runs so good cold any tips or tricks or just advice would be greatly appreciated

Check compression check crank shaft seals

By process of elimination it almost has to be a fuel or compression issue. Doubtful that your spark is going away when the engine is hot then coming back when it's cold. Timing wouldn't change from cold to a warm cart and back again.
In addition to compression / seals you may want to try to adjust the carb's mix screw a bit by opening it up some. What the heck, it's not going to hurt anything. |
