I'm not sure. I never heard of any common failures from lack of oil in top end. I have heard of many G2/9 blowing oil into the airbox, and that hose is off the rocker cover so they have too much oil there (or blow by pushing it). So it might be a problem to have too much oil up there.

I'm thinking of doing it so the engine is also oil cooled, long term project.

I'm a firm believer in don't fix something that's not broke so I'd freshen up the cylinder pistons and rings and call it good

I think that would be robbing the bottom end of necessary oil to solve a non existent top end problem. Yamaha engine engineers aren't a bunch of dummies, I would trust them. And about that oil cooling thing, trust me, plenty of oil is already being thrown around to cool things. If you have ever started one with the oil cap off, you would know that first-hand.

You get me somewhat wrong, I would need oil cooling due to use outside the cooling system design. I'll maybe show you later, way later.

What exactly are you planning on using the cart for? These carts are underpowered so if you were to use it in a way you need to cool the oil I feel like you would have other problems before oil temp becomes an issue
