Default 2001 yamaha g16 using oil badly

Bought a cart knowing it uses oil and that probably bad rings.

However Just wanted to see what others thought before I started tearing it? What you all recommend ordering in before starting? (what gaskets, seals)

Do i need a new cylinder(top end)

New to golf carts.

I forgot to add a fair amount of oil sitting in the air box.

The "top end" doesn't come off like a 2-stroke engine would. You need to do ring job, and probably a bore/piston job too. Forget about doing it with engine in the cart, just pull it out.

If its smoking and stuff is that piston rings? They look okay... Heard it could be the valves or valve seats.
