I would start by spraying the cables and all pivot points with wd40 or
something. Under the seat and back at the rearend. Work your shifter
back and forth a bunch of times during and after you spray it.

If you have pressure on the gears in the rearend, like if you back up a hill,
it is harder to move the shifter. It's that way on mine and two others I
know of with the V18. Just rock the cart to and fro

Should be a cable issue. With cables working good, you will have more leverage with the handle. Good news for you, problem should be in the handle set up or cables.

Sounds like the cables are frozen up at the shifter lever or back on the trans/axle. Spray them all down really good with penetrating oil, esp. the ones back by the trans/axle area.

Well, Ron and I put so much time into this, I was wondering.

If Made4 still has the same email address, I can imagine his thought when he opens it... "What the heck is this?"
(then of course... trying to remember his password after almost 10 years!)
