Re: whats the best ethenol stabilizer?
Don't know how many of you have airports close by, but you can use 100LL avgas in your carts and small engines! It has no alcohol whatsoever and at this time ( in my locale ) it's $4.65 a gallon. It does contain some lead ( the " LL " stands for low lead ). Little more expensive, but so are the fuel lines and carb parts that alcohol destroys! Plus it has a much greater shelf life.

Re: whats the best ethenol stabilizer?
I live in the heart of corn country. And we normally have three choices at the pump. Reg 87, mid 89 (alcohol), and prem 91. There are two alcohol plants close by, but we have the choice of no alcohol. I live near the border of Iowa , and the same holds true there also.

Re: whats the best ethenol stabilizer?
I use Seafoam with great results!! All the small engine mechanics in the area recommended it for stabilizing as well as a fuel "Tune-up". I will put an entire bottle into a 1/4 tank of fuel and run it till it stops (just like how we use to clean fuel injectors on cars).
Easy, fast, cheap!! Just how I like my women!! |

Re: whats the best ethenol stabilizer?
avgas is the best options if you have a small airport nearby. I believe it is required to have a 60mo. shelf life. If that is not in the cards for you seafoam is GREAT

Re: whats the best ethenol stabilizer?
refresh topic:
now that ethanol free gas is becoming more readily available ( called Recreational Fuel here in Michigan) Should we be running this in our carts? its pretty expensive but for how little a cart uses I can afford it.. |

Re: whats the best ethenol stabilizer?
I wouldn't use stabil I have heard numerous issues with it. Use seafoam if anything. If planning on storing it then shut off the fuel and run the cart until it dies. For gas usually marinas have ethanol free gas however it is more expensive than regular; check out this website for the closest place to you.
