Starter no longer spinning; cart not cranking

Hey all,

I hope everyone is doing great I am a newbie cart owner and new to this forum. Anyway, I have a 2002 lifted EZGO TXT with a 4 stroke robin motor. I just bought this thing and thought it could run a bit better so I changed the oil, put a new fuel filter on, changed the spark plugs, put on a new drive belt, and adjusted the screw on the throttle next to the engine to keep it more at top speed. Anyway, it seemed to be running great, then the motor quit cranking, and finally my starter quit. It seems like the starter kept getting weaker and weaker unitl now it does nothing. I checked the spark plugs to see if they were firing. They are lighting up nicely. The head and tail lights also work great. Any ideas? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Came out this morning and the starter ran for about 15-20 seconds while slowly running out of "juice" until it completely stopped. Now once again it does nothing. So after sitting for about 8 hours it was able to muster enough power to try and run again....any thoughts?

Sounds like you need a new battery, are the lights bright when you are cranking?

Okay, here's what I think is going on. My cart wasn't cranking for quite a while and I kept trying to start it. This obviously ran the battery down. I put a jump pack on it and now the starter seems to run good. The engine just won't crank however. I can't figure it out. The spark plugs fire, the fuel pump pumps fuel fine. Any ideas?

If you are sure it's getting good spark and gas, I would start with adjusting the valves (15 minute job)

Not sure what screw you adjusted for top speed?
