Clutches
Ok guy's go easy on me. I'm not very good on the gas carts yet but I'm learning. I had the big block V Twin rebuilt and now it's like it has no power! The belt was bought new this past winter only drove it on the CAW ride and that's it.
1. Motor clutch doesn't go all the way back open when the cart is idling are turned off. Is this right, I can't remember back before. About 1/2 throttle. |

Re: Clutches
Why isn't this in the big block section?
The primary doesn't look like it is grabbing the belt when opened so that's a good thing. Are you sure both cylinders are heating up the same as the motor warms up? You can tell by putting your hands on the valve covers. If it is running on one cylinder, it is hard to tell just by listening. Also, if one cylinder is running fat and the other lean, you will see a huge temp and performance difference. |

It is just not getting any info. I need someone who is knowledgeable on these dang things to get me headed in the right direction. There is only about 10* difference between them by my temp gun. Should I be able to spin the rear clutch by hand also when in gear but not running? I need to know how to check the clutches and how to pull maintenance on them. Any help will be much appreciated. |

Re: Clutches
You should be able to turn the secondary clutch by hand and have the wheels turn. The belt should just slide around the primary clutch.
