Ok. I see now.

I still think I am going with a spare aux battery just to make things easier for the future. There is plenty of room on the drivers side for one.

I verified that each battery added 6v by holding the meter on the positive of the first and going around to each negative post.

That battery is connected to the battery next to it. The wire is back under the body. So you're saying to hook to the positive I have labeled and the negative that is to the left of it? I would think that would definitely be 36v....
If you connect to batteries 1,6 (starting with forward passenger side battery and going around in a "u" shape to the rear passenger side battery) you're definitely going to have 36v. Those two batteries on the passenger side are pack + and pack -

Ezgo used batteries 5, 6 to get 12v for carts that had factory lights, horn, but it's not recommended by the smart guys on this board . I didn't go back through your whole post, but a reducer or a separate 12v battery is the much better option.

Also, looking at your pic on my phone, but it looks like a good cleaning of those cables/terminals wouldn't hurt.

Edit: looks like you guys got it sorted out while my fat, slow fingers were trying to type on the phone

The whole cart is in need of a good going over. It's on the list of things to do when there's no grass to cut this winter, haha.

Haha. I hear you, and wasn't trying to be critical. You just don't want that corrosion to cause you any additional problems.
