Re: 99 TXT gas build, The DAWG! Jakes LT and 670 Predator
Well, a little progress...found that it would likely be easier to cut out the entire center of the front of the frame, and weld in the donor front frame. Got the 99 TXT center frame cut out. It was a bit of a PITA. I need a darn plasma cutter...looking at buying one of those plasma cutter/mig welder/arc welder machines off Amazon...they get decent reviews. Anyone have one?
I tried uploading photos, but not having any success. I keep getting Bad request errors from the server. Havn't had that problem before. I'll get the 4 bolt frame cut out and welded in tomorrow hopefully and get some photos of the process. It is definitely more work than I planned. It wouldn't be as bad if I wasn't trying to save the 3-bolt frame section for reuse on one of my workhorses. |

Re: 99 TXT gas build, The DAWG! Jakes LT and 670 Predator
I got the frame section out of the 3-bolt TXT and out of the donor 4-bolt frame, and welded the 4-bolt front section into the TXT. Pretty happy with it. I'm no welder, but I am not concerned at all with the strength of the welds...just aren't pretty. Held the lift up against the new frame section and everything appears to line up perfect. Still need to do a little more support work clean up the frame and paint the sections I worked on, then its lift install time.

Re: 99 TXT gas build, The DAWG! Jakes LT and 670 Predator
Up until very recently, 1, but now 7, or 6 and a half. One is just a donor cart. They aren't all mine though...They were junk workhorse carts at a local muni golf course, and in a trade for fixing some, I get to keep a couple. The deal is a bit flexible. I do get to use parts from there junk pile of carts. They had some rebuilt motors and they couldn't make them work. I am fixing that.

Progress! New lift installed. Still need do the alignment and rebuild the dash...but at least it can roll out of the garage. Noticeably stiffer up front.

Looks good bud. I like that front suspension setup. Looks much better quality than the Jakes. I think the Jakes designs are just dated and not as good as they once were.

Just a better photo of it out of the garage with the new RHOX lift installed. Still need to do some wiring...Not sure how, but the predator ignition switch broke. Need to figure out another switch option.

Made use of the donor frame, extra transaxle and dump bed. None of them came off the same machine...makes a nice yard trailer.
