Default EZGo PDS no go

2004 PDS 48 volt XCT500 controller, 0 gauge cables and a Plum Quick motor. Kids have been telling me for a while that sometimes it just does not move. Then all of a sudden it does. I road it this weekend and found low power and then I stopped to go to the store came out and nothing. Solenoid clicks. I towed home and got out the lap top. On the Alltrax tool kit it show throttle is operating. Tested continuity on motor terminals and found to be good on F1/F2 on A1/A2 I got nothing. Have an email in to Robby for a new motor. Should I check anything else first? Oh battery voltage is 50.6 and all batteries are within 0.04 volts.

What are the Motor Volts when Pedal is floored?
Should be same are Battery Volts on Toolkit monitor screen.

Try pushing cart while Ohmmeter is connected between A1 and A2.
If it intermittently shows continuity, the brushes might be bad.

The PDS I bought looked similar to yours. It had been towed with a truck at 25 mph and they didn't flip the tow switch
JohnnieB will know

Towing it home with Run/Tow switch in Run probably didn't do that, the damage to the commutator looks more like it was stalled with pedal on floor.

Whatever the reason for the severe damages, it doesn't look like something PQ will warranty, or be able to fix.

Fortunately, the XCT has short protection on its outputs.

On the other hand, feeding a lot of amps to a stalled motor wouldn't have eat up the two brushes like that.

I guess there were two (or more) problems.

Thanks for the input. I thought maybe the melted commutator took out this two brushes. Notice how the brush hold on those two is trashed also?

I'm not well versed on brush wear, so I'm not sure how one pair wore faster than the other pair, but it seems to me a ragged surface on the commutator would wear down all four brushes about the same.

About all I know is the two worn brushes were connected to the same "A" terminal on the motor, but not if it was A1 or A2.

Here's a generic drawing of how the brushes are connected.

-----------
If anybody figures it out, let us know please.
