Default 96 electric smoking battery posts

96 electric ez-go has completely melted the posts off of 2 new sets of golf cart batteries. When cart is used, the cables heat up and if not noticed in time, the battery posts completely melt down to nothing. I have had it to two golf cart repair places and they told me it was the batteries. Well, I have since then purchased two sets of batteries (at 1000.00 a pop) and I still have the same problem. So I need to find someone who knows what the hell they're talking about when it comes to golf carts. Thank you very much for your time.

There has to be some serious resistence causing this. What modifications have been done?

Do you any accessories that you might be grounding to the frame. Can you take a volt metter,& ground to the neg side of your Battery pack & the other prong to the frame. Are you getting a reading? You have some bad mojo going on.

Good point I have always said NEVER ground any accessory on an electric cart to the frame. The frame will nbearly always have some voltage in it - 3 to 4 volts. I have seen some frames have nearly 36 volts in them - I was told that this is almost always related to "dust" in the motor...

This cart is all original (except for batteries) no accessories of any kind attached, I know it's kind of strange, maybe I just need a new one. Thank you all for your time and help.
