Cart won't accept a charge
First, I thought my charger had packed up because when I plugged it in my cart it wasn't working (no hummm, or flicker of the needle). So I borrowed the exact charger from my friend and plugged it in, same thing, nothing....
I can only assume it's a lose connection some where, or would it be a major componant, where would one start to locate this problem? Has anyone else experienced this? I look forward to your responses.... Thanks Dan |

Does your charger work on his cart?

Re: Cart won't accept a charge
Yes, which leads me to believe my charger still works?
CORRECTION..... His charger works on his cart, but not on mine. I haven't tried to hook up my charger to his cart yet. Last edited by robindg10; 03-10-2010 at 08:53 PM.. Reason: Clarify previous answer |

Re: Cart won't accept a charge
if your battery pack is dead your charger will not charge them ..... you have to charge your batteries with another charger first .. your battery charger does not see your battery pack because it is to low of voltage...

Re: Cart won't accept a charge
Agreed! Get a voltage reading of the batts. Also you will probably have to charge 2 batteries at a time (2 - 6v so get 12v) and hook any 12v charger up to them to get the batteries up to full charge. Do that to all the batteries, then you should be in good shape to run you golf cart charger again. Or another way which works for me. Bring youre buddies cart to your location and jump his battery pack (36v) to yours... that way your charger will recognize a full pack and turn on. You may have to leave the jumpers on for a while, but it will work.

Fantastic gentleman, that makes a lot of sense. I will charge them first and thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.
Good luck on the links........... |
