Ok so i drove it again tonight just messed around a little and it drove great, little noise but then while i was amidst a fierce figure 8 the noise stopped. I had to re adjust myself because i was leaning too hard and when i re adjusted my weight the noise came back. So this leads me to believe that something somewhere from the drivebelt back rubs somewhere because it also got louder with speed. I couldnt get under it to look because it gets dark fast when i get home around 5pm. But im not even sure where it can rub except the lower brace?

finally narrowed it down to the drive clutch chattering. The front piece keeps clanking against each other because the isolators are gone, broken off or what have you. Im looking to replace the whole clutch disk. I was looking at this one because its the OEM replacement but is there another one i can buy as an upgraded one for possibly more torque and overall power? remember i dont know too much about these so im not even sure if its possible.

the one i am looking to buy unless shown better

Id love to purchase one if possible to free up more torque or overall performance. I plan on buying the shorter belt as well.

Never pulled a clutch but I hear that to do it right you will need a clutch puller. Read some bad results from a guy who tried to fabricate his own clutch puller. You might create a thread asking the "pulling" question and maybe someone will sell you one they used once. New is around 35 - 40 bucks plus shipping. Oouch! :(

I don't have to use a puller on the driven clutch. Just pull the bold out of the center and work it off by hand. Reverse for install and torque to spec (don't over do the bolt or you may regret the entire project)

I think Texas is referring to the drive clutch...that is a whole other deal and depending on which clutch you have and how long its been on there, you would want the factory puller.

installed this morning alon with the new shorter belt. I took my garmin and after she warmed up i topped out around 15MPH. Im still on my super rich mix from my rebuild so once thats the right mix and i dial in my carb it shouldnt be a problem. Ran great and strong.
