The new style steering showed up around 2001 but they did use the old style on random models for many years after. Only way to be sure is look.

Interesting almost 10 year old post
What I found when keeping up a fleet of these old ones is they don't like to hit railroad ties
No telling how many I repaired . Not railroad ties either

Kept several rack parts in stock with the bronze bushings.

We later removed all the railroad ties from the course and rack and pinion problem went away.

I think they were designed to drive cart path only which our golfers never did.

You wouldn't believe unless you worked on a golf course where some of these carts ended up

I am not sure which design was better. I do know which one was the fastest to replace and not smash your hands or head

Im with you Trig. I used to keep the broken castings just for that bush! I have worked golf courses for many years and could tell some really interesting tales of where and how we found missing carts LOL
