Alltrax XCT 48400 anti roll away?
I have an Alltrax XCT48400 installed in my 2016 Club Car Precedent with stock motor. Works great! Much faster and more torque for hills. My question is this: the old curtis controller would prevent the cart from rolling with the tow/run switch in the run position. The Alltrax controller does not do this. Is this normal or did i miss connect something? (yes, the diode is installed across solenoid contacts).

What is the Max Regen Battery Amps set at. That controls the roll away braking amount.
If it doesn't buzz when it tries to rollaway it may be the speed sensor. |

Re: Alltrax XCT 48400 anti roll away?
tried both max regen battery amps and max regen armature amps set at 250. it makes no difference.
the old curtis controller used the resistor across the solenoid contacts and you could not even budge the cart. can someone else with an alltrax controller try pushing their cart (brake released obviously) with the tow/run switch in the run position ans see if it will roll. thank you in advance. |

Re: Alltrax XCT 48400 anti roll away?
It is not Regen brake as it would require both the Controller to be powered and the Solenoid to be closed to work.
Make sure you hear the reverse buzzer sound as you push the cart which indicates the speed sensor is working properly. Set your "Plug Brake" to 300 amps or higher. This setting also prevents the cart from rolling backwards on a hill during the time you take your foot off the brake and press the accelerator. I also noticed the "dynamic brake" used for roll-away was a lot stronger on the Excel controller as it is on my Alltrax XCT 500. |

Thanks. I'll check these tonight. Reverse buzzer is disconnected because wife said so (u know how that goes). I'll also try raising the Plug Brake, i think my controller came with plug brake at 250 but i cud b wrong.

Yes. Both diodes. Small one across solenoid coil for inductive kickback and large one across solenoid contacts. Anode (stripe) towards positive.

Re: Alltrax XCT 48400 anti roll away?
i Guess the Alltrax controller does not have the stiff anti roll braking that the Curtis controller has. kind of dissappointed.
