g2 input shaft question
Yamaha G2
Just wondering how you guys tighten the nut down on the input shaft. i used a 1/2in drive impact on mine one time and snapped the shaft. I was lucky and found a cheap transmission and used the input shaft to rebuild mine. So to not chance breaking my new one i was tighting it down with a wrench and held the helix with a pipe wrench so i could get it pretty tight. But when ever i drive all of a sudden it backs it self off snaps my codder pin and the clutch comes off. (it was mid winter when i snapped my input shaft so im guessing the cold made the metal brittle?) also my original woodruff key is gone so i got some from a hardware store not exact fit but it is pretty close. not sure if this has any effect. anyways im just wonder how i should approach my issues here. thanks! |
