Re: No-ox-id
I had a bottle of ILSCO DE-OX laying around from when I built my garage 20-some years ago. It's the stuff you use when you're connecting aluminum cable to a breaker box (or any aluminum wiring to copper connectors).
I've been using it on my batteries, and it seems to work just fine - no visible oxidation at all. I'd be interested in how the stuff you bought turns out. RLW |

Re: No-ox-id
FWIW, I think 200 amp services for homes should "still" be copper, not aluminum. I love aluminum, but it takes more attention than a typical home-builder electrician can usually offer, or home owner can maintain. No offense intended, but one phase of my last house was "blinking", and I was fortunate enough to know and fix the cause. It had melted enough of the meter base box that it was a total loss.
Even when properly installed, it needs at least a once over a few times a decade, and non-licensed electricians don't have legal access to their "own" meter box. |

FWIW, Who mentioned homes or 200 amp service? He said garage. No offense intended.

Re: No-ox-id
I have always wondered about using on a cart but have not. I have used No-Ox in communications for years and on my jobs it is required. I once talked to Alltrax about this and had a fairly detailed discussion about it, I will be curious how this works for you.

Quality dielectric grease will do just as well as the other product. Keeping the air and moisture away does the trick. Use liberally within reason.

AHH the good old days!! Aluminum gets loose and has to be tightened every few years as said previously.
