Default Intermittent spark.....

'97 CC DS FE290

Having problems with intermittent running then stalling. Fuel delivery is good, and all electrical stuff works (lights, starter/gen turns over, etc.)

Just pulled the plug and the spark is intermittent and variable. I'm guessing its the coil/igniter. Is there any way to test this before dropping almost $100 on a new one. I'd like to confirm this is the problem before spending the money.

Thanks!

As a follow up...

Is there any other component that would cause this? Could it be the rpm limiter?

From what I've read, I think guys have had the problem you describe, and disconnecting the rev limiter has fixed it. But I can't say for sure or from any first hand experience. My older cart doesn't have a rev limiter.

I just put a switch inline with the limiter. Even when off (interrupted), no dice....
