Hey All, I have been following this thread and I have a similar problem with and old 1977 EZGO. it runs fine in reverse but intermitant fire in forward. checked all the wiring and the did the sure find test( grab the wire and crank it) on the coil and it is hot. I am guessing that it is something inside the Flywheel area. I am not too familiar with these old two cycles even though I have several of them. Keep throwing out the info and i will keep looking for my problem.

I had similar problems with my 89 2 stroke recently. Changed the pulsar coil under the flywheel, no help (even with the new one I don't get the ohm reading I'm supposed to but oh well). Then did the HEI conversion with a compatible auto coil and that did the trick...I think I'd do that first, then the pulsar coil!
