I've heard this before the pins or connections in there get bad, you push or squeeze it and it works. They are expensive but don't go bad very often at all. You can convert to a G9 if you change a wire iirc, and those have no rev limit inside, if you care. When you said it gets warm and starts.... I wondered (I just read this thread now). They retard the timing and then dont retard at 2500 and more, so if they go bad the timing is way too advanced at low rpm. In order to do that you set the timing advanced and let the CDI (its called something else but similar) retard it as it needs to, because it can't really advance it electronically. I would buy one or find used. If you can find another G2 swap it and verify that is the issue before you spend on it. You might find one from someone who put a clone in, I have one but want to put it on my clone if I can figure it out.

Thanks I'll try and clean and tighten the connections I thought about trying to borrow one to test with is there a thread about swapping out a g9. Are they just as expensive as the g2 on?
