Re: 2004 Yamaha G22a - Is this a clutch issue? If so, which one
It is difficult to tell from the videos, but is the issue that it struggles and jumps when starting in gear? The earlier suggestion to check the primary clutch would be spot on. Even without taking the cover off of it you can see if it's going to it's correct "at rest" position. I know you said it doesn't act up all the time, but when it does: pop up the seat and look at where the drive belt is riding on that front clutch. At rest does it sit loosely on the shaft in the center of the clutch? Or is it held tight between the two plates a little off of that center shaft?

Is it suppose to sit loosely at rest? or tight? If it is the primary clutch; does anyone have any recommendations to be replace with on 2004 g22a?

The belt should have some slack when cart is at rest. I don't know if Plowmans sells new clutches, he might be able to repair yours. For a new clutch, I would suggest Gboost, they have great price on a stock clutch.

Re: 2004 Yamaha G22a - Is this a clutch issue? If so, which one
when looking at it after riding around for a couple miles.. The clutch belt is tight with very little wiggle room when touching it... When I first bought the cart I noticed the belt was extremely loose. Also, when running in neutral; I notice the clutch doesn't move inward or outward.. Based on researching this, It appears the primary clutch is not working properly. Would this be safe to assume?

http://www.plowmanscarts.com/carts.c...1365675417&v=2 Which option could be better to resolve this for gas g22a? Could you confirm by previous thread that the primary clutch is the issue? |

Re: 2004 Yamaha G22a - Is this a clutch issue? If so, which one
Yep, that clutch is stuck closed. With the belt off, the clutch should slide in and out with ease. Remove the cover to see what's going on inside. Something is broken. I had Plowmans rebuild my G22 clutch and I'm happy with it. Or you could go with the clutch from Gboost. Either way, you will need a clutch puller tool to remove the clutch. If your secondary needs attention, Plowmans kits are hard to beat.

how would you determine if your secondary clutch may need attention?

Check the sheaves for wear, or "steps" like this one. The ramp shoes need to be in good condition, and make sure that there is a spacer behind the spring seat/helix instead of the OEM circlip.
