Default Chrysler ignitor box on g2

OK I read the forum from 2012 and wired the box up and the cart ran perfect for about 30mins and it quit firing again and the ground wire going to the pickup started smoking and I really need someone to post some good wiring schmatic of it or maybe a video. I think I had a wire wrong on the new ignitor and shorted it out. The old diagram from 2012 seems backwards looking at it. It's a g2 that I picked up for 150dol and I'm trying to restore it for my dad for xmas. He has a 36v g2 and loves it but wanted a gas 1. I'll post before and after pic of the project when I'm done

Yep, post 'em. Does it automatically manage spark timing advance? Or is it static advance? If it is static, you are leaving some HP untapped.

I think the chryco and ford boxes are static they had distributor weights for advance, the G2/9 has advance built in.

Have been running the Chrysler ignition box now for about a month with no problems. Cranks quickly and crisp throttle response. So far so good
