Default 2010 RXV 48 Encoder Bearing

I am trying to replace my encoder bearing and I am at the point where I am trying to get the side of the motor off that houses the bearing. My question is do I need to remove that snap ring and wave washer before the motor end cap will come off??? I’m trying not to break anything..ha

Thanks!!

Hope this helps... I didn't write this just kept it in a file.

The bearing encoder is actually really easy to do. Disconnect all motor wires from controller and gently pull towards the motor. Pull motor brake off and disconnect the 3 plugs that go to motor and motor brake. It's easiest if you put cart on jack stands and lower back half of the leaf springs to access motor. Pull the 6 bolts that hold the motor in and take it out. Careful it's not really heavy but awkward. There is a c clip that's keeps the armature in. Remove it and set to the side as it will be reused. Pull armature out. There a 5 screws total that keep the encoder and wiring in place. Separate the motor case just enough to pull the 4 pin connecter through. Gently tap the encoder bearing out. Assemble in reverse.
